Cocoa is the leading agricultural export of the country and Nigeria is currently the world's fourth largest producer of cocoa, after Ivory Coast, Indonesia and Ghana. Nigeria produced approximately 238 thousand tons of cocoa beans in 2012/2013 and is expected to produce 270 thousand tons in 2020/2021, with Ondo, Cross River, Ogun, Akwa Ibom, Ekiti, Delta, Osun and Oyo being the major states that produce cocoa.

Hallo allemaal, mijn naam is Uzo Igweike (
@loomchocolate op Instagram). Ik woon in Abuja, Nigeria. Ik heb 12 jaar als SAP ERP-consultant gewerkt voordat ik besloot me te concentreren op het maken van chocolade, wat me de kans gaf om te creëren en zoveel meer tijd met mijn dochters. Ik werk voornamelijk met Nigeriaanse cacao en ik ben dol op het maken van inclusierepen met Nigeriaanse producten.
Iyin Akinlabi-Oladimeji
Hallo iedereen! Erg blij om aan deze groep toegevoegd te worden. Mijn naam is Iyin Akinlabi-Oladimeji. Ik ben Nigeriaan en woon momenteel in de VS. Ik leerde iets meer dan een jaar geleden over het ambacht / bean to bar-ruimte en raakte geïnspireerd !! Ik werk momenteel aan een project om chocolade te produceren in Nigeria en te verkopen in de VS. Ik heb echt zin om met jullie allemaal in contact te komen!
